Do I have to make an appointment?


Yes. You can do so by directly by phoning the studio, or emailing us at info@tangerine-photo.com and letting us know what day/time works best for you and we will get back to you to confirm if that spot is available.



How far ahead do I have to book my session? Do you require a deposit?
Appointments are usually booked in general a week in advance. A credit card number is required only to book weekend Christmas appointments. All other times of the year a deposit is not necessary.



What if something comes up and we can’t make our appointment? Is there a cancellation fee?
Please cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance if possible. We understand that things come up with children that can’t be planned so there is no charge for cancellations most of the year. A 24 hour cancellation is required for weekend Christmas appointments, otherwise, a session fee will be charged to the credit card you provided when booking your appointment.



How long does a photo session last?
Our in studio general photo session lasts approximately 45 min to one hour. You should expect to be at the studio for another 20 -30 minutes after the session for the slideshow screening of your images that were just taken.



How many shots will the photographer take? 
We take a minimum of 50 images up to as many as 300 depending on how the shoot goes. We promise that you will have an excellent selection every time!



When can I see my photographs?
Immediately after your photo session.



Can I take the images home to show my family/friends?
Yes you can! We can provide a proof cd of all of your photo shoot images for you to take home with you on the day of your shoot. This allows you to show your family & friends so they can order their favorites, along with providing you the option of ordering your prints from the comfort of your home and with no sales pressure. Our proof CD is based on a deposit system; ask in studio for details.



When do I pay for my order?
Due to the custom nature of our products we ask that you pay in full at the placement of your order. Orders are final sale and are non refundable.



How long does it take for me to obtain my photographs?

The regular turn around time to obtain your prints is three –four weeks, custom compilations, plaque & Canvas mounts as well as framing is five-six weeks, Card orders or JPG image Orders are 2-3 weeks after the date of payment. If you cant wait three weeks to see your photographs, take advantage of our accelerated Rush services (ask for details).



How can I prepare myself for my session and what do I have to bring with me?

At Tangerine Photography we approach each session in a fun, relaxed manner. Our objective is to capture natural and spontaneous moments therefore we suggest you bring clothing that both reflect your style and that you feel comfortable in. Style your hair and do your make-up how it suits you best. A second outfit might include vibrant and varied colors, sports jerseys, bathing suits, fun hats or tutus for the girls! These are only suggestions; browse our photo galleries to help you decide your favorite looks!
For individual portraits feel free to bring up to three outfit changes for different looks. For group portraits we suggest that all individuals of the session be clothed dressed in coordinating colours to create a unity in the photos. The important thing is that your clothing and accessories best represent you. With this, do not hesitate to bring your favorite objects, whether it is a toy or a musical instrument!



Are there any types of clothing to avoid?

Thin stripes and checkered patterns and logos are to be avoided. The patterns may interfere by causing image distortion and the logos distract from the subject.





Sometimes my child is consoled with a treat or a snack, can I bring food or drinks?
Yes. For younger children sometimes small snacks such as Cheerios, small candy, raisins or juice maybe helpful. Try to avoid large snacks that take them a long time to eat. No peanut products please.



What if my child has a blemish, bruise or scratch?
All of our pictures include basic retouching (minor blemish removal, bruise or scratch removal, under eye lightening and skin airbrushing). Advanced retouching services are also available (teeth whitening, skin smoothing, head swaps, drool & ‘booger’ removal, object removal, etc.) for an additional cost



I wear eyeglasses. Is this a concern?
We do our best to minimize glare on glasses, however in some instances this is not possible .





Can I bring my pet along?

Of course! We love Pets! Please note that there are allotted times for sessions with animals in order to protect the infants that visit our studio daily from the risk of allergy. For appointment availabilities, please contact the studio and let us know you’re bringing your furry family member when booking. 




Can I obtain black-and-white photographs, sepia and color? 

Of course! We have a complete range of finishes for your photographs, including: color, black-and-white, sepia, selective color.



Is it possible to purchase the digital files?
Yes. With print purchases you can purchase those digital Full Resolution JPG’s. Low resolution JPGS of your shoot are also available. See our Pricing menu for details.
